Start your day with a Morning Detox

Starting the day with a morning detox supports your body to rid itself of any toxins before you start your day. By practicing these two daily habits, you will begin to see benefits.

1. Prepare a simple lemon-based tea for internal detoxifying and cleansing


As an Ayurvedic practitioner, I’ve long encouraged people to drink hot water with fresh lemon juice and a touch of honey.

Benefits include:


a. Improves detoxification


b. Improves digestion


c. Aids in healthy weight management



However, sometimes the sourness of the lemon juice is just too off-putting for some palates.

As an alternative, try Canarino instead, to enjoy all the detoxifying benefits of lemon water without the sour taste. Honey is optional.


Canarino recipe:


1. With a sharp knife or peeler, thinly shave off a 1-inch long strip of peel off the lemon, one per cup. Take care not to include the white pith.


2. Put the strip of peel into a cup or mug, and pour boiling water over it.


3. Steep for 3 to 5 minutes to get a delicious pale yellow cup of lemony Canarino.
